Keynote Speakers
Opening Ceremony
Two high-level keynote speakers will share their opening remarks on the 2nd Belgian Impact Day. Sandrine Dixson-Declève, an international climate change, sustainable development, sustainable finance and systems thought leader, will open the day with her Keynote Speech. She will be followed by Vincent Van Peteghem, Belgian economist and politician and currently the Minister of Finance of Belgium. We look forward to hearing their insights and learning from their experience.
Sandrine Dixson-Declève is an international climate change, sustainable development, sustainable finance and complex systems thought leader. She is currently the Co-president of The Club of Rome together with Mamphela Ramphele, the first women to lead the organization in its history. She is an expert in the field of: Climate change and energy policy, fuel quality legislation, sustainable development, environmental management and audit schemes. |
Vincent Van Peteghem is a Belgian economist and politician who has been serving as Minister of Finance in the government of Prime Minister Alexander De Croo since 1 October 2020. Van Peteghem is responsible for coordinating the Fight against Fraud. An important ambition of his is to introduce a comprehensive reform of the Belgian federal tax system to make it fairer, by modernising and simplifying the system as a whole. |
Grand Finale
Hans Stegeman, the Chief Economist at Triodos Bank, will close the 2nd Belgian Impact Day. An expert in his field and thought leader on systemic economic change, his words promise to provide us with tools and thoughts that we will carry with us after the event.
Hans Stegeman serves as the Chief Economist at Triodos Bank, where he is tasked with steering the social and economic course within which the bank operates. Mr. Stegeman supports the approach of degrowth or 'beyond growth' as a viable solution to address today's pressing climate and biodiversity challenges. In his role at Triodos Bank, he combines his expertise in economics with a commitment to exploring sustainable and balanced models that prioritise ecological harmony and social well-being. |
